Seeing needs and launching into action without the worry of how we will fund ministry, that is what The Hope Initiative is all about. There is a lot of talk about “hope” in America today. That buzz word has even stretched to the international, entertainment, financial, political and health care communities. Despite the rhetoric, despair lurks at every turn and life has become increasingly hopeless.
The Old Testament character Job lived through extraordinary pain and loss. If anyone could say they were hopeless it was him. Imagine Job sitting there in the desert next to the stump of a tree, alone, grief stricken and impoverished. He looks down and in the center of all that remains of its former greatness are signs of rebirth. And Job speaks, “At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant.” -- Job 14:7-9 NIV
Job had lost hope, and there was no hope for the tree. Or so it seemed!
This world is looking for hope. Unfortunately, the solutions being offered are temporary at best. For the church across the earth and our family here at Abba’s House, we know that we possess the only lasting hope. Wouldn’t it be great if we could meet every need around us? The regrettable reality is that limited resources dictate the ways we can demonstrate and communicate that hope. That is why we have launched The Hope Initiative.
The Hope Initiative is a plan that could bring the water necessary to spark life in the tree. It is an opportunity to activate our faith, focus our efforts and invest strategically. The Hope Initiative will set Abba’s House free to do more of the things that God is showing us!
Over the next few weeks, the objectives of The Hope Initiative will be clearly explained. And you will come to understand how this plan will revolutionize ministry and free us to give beyond our wildest dream! The Hope Initiative; prioritizing, redefining and liberating the church!
